Our board of directors is made up of eight democratically elected members and is responsible for financial management, policy development, education and publicity. Each Director is generally elected for 2 terms, but if they wish to continue for longer, then they can resubmit themselves for re-election, and if re-elected can serve once again on the board.

The General Manager reports to the Board of Directors who is in return accountable to the general membership. In addition to the Board there is an Executive Board comprised of 4 board members (President, Vice President, Finance, and Communications). Board Meetings are usually held once per week. All members are welcome to attend and to raise any issues either at the board meetings or by talking with a board member. President: Mobolaji Joseph

I am Mobolaji and this year's President. I am very excited to be on the board for a second year and looking forward to getting to know a lot of the members. Currently I am in my 4th year of Environmental Science and also doing a minor in German. I would be delighted to hear your ideas on what you would like to see happen at co-op this year. Also next year we will be hosting the annual Ontario Student Cooperative Association(OSCA) conference and hope you will participate in the planning of this event and welcoming other student cooperatives to Kingston next October. This is going to be an amazing year and I am sure all members will experience the amazing co-op spirit and appreciate the community which we are part of.

Vice President: Laura Owen

Hey all! My name's Laura. I'm currently in my final year at Queen's studying history, and I'm really excited about being this year's Vice President. This is my third year in co-op, and my second year on the board. Officially, as Vice President, I am in charge of managing the House Managers and liaising between them and the Board. I'll also be chairing the Strategic Planning Committee this year, so I'm definitely interested in hearing about all of your ideas for co-op! This will be a great year, and I'm looking to make it even better, so let me and the other board members know how we can make that happen!

Welcome to Co-Op! I'm Jaime, the 2010-2011 Operations Director. This is my second year in Co-Op while I'm at Queen's doing my masters in urban planning. Originally from Oakville, Ontario, I've also lived in Peterborough, Ottawa, and Toronto before returning to Kingston. In my spare time, I enjoy playing music, sports, and traveling.

Communications Director: Jerry Xue

Hello present and future co-opers alike, my name is Jerry Xue and I am your Communications Director for the 2010-2011 academic school year. Originally from China but now residing in Toronto, I am a third year student currently taking a medial in political studies and global development studies, with an unofficial focus on East Asian relations. Besides letting you in if you find yourself to be locked out in the middle of the night, I am also responsible this year for helping you, whether or not a co-op members, to have the most up-to-date knowledge of what is happening around co-op and how you can get involved! Outside of board work, I will be more than happy to join a game of Trivial Pursuit or strategy games in my spare time. Sustainability Director: Lindsey Taylor

Hey guys! As this year’s Sustainability Director, I work closely with the Green Crew and the Staff at the Science ’44 Co-op. In recent years, the Sci ’44 Co-op has invested in energy efficient retrofits among other environmental initiatives. This year, we are going to focus on member awareness and water conservation.
